Bargarh

Bargarh, also Baragarh, is a city and a municipality in Bargarh district in the state of Orissa, India. It is the administrative headquarters of Bargarh District

Bargarh got the recognition of a district on April 1st 1993, was formed out of the mother district Sambalpur.. This is one of the districts of western Orissa which is developed in agriculture, industry, and trade. Bargarh is known as a prosperous district as it holds the Hirakud Irrigation Project. Mahanadi, Jira, Jhanu are some of the great rivers that flow through the district making it a heavenly place. Baragarh is rich with the resources like Sambalpuri handloom works cottage industry, Cement factory, Sugar factory and spinning mills. Bargarh is well known for its Dhanu Yatra and Bandha cottage industry........ Debrigarh, Devdarha, Gaisima, Ganjapali, Nrushimhanath and Papanga are some of the tourist centres of Baragarh district.

Bargarh Town is the Head Quarter of the district and this place is well connected with Road and Rail. The National High Way (NH 6) is leying through this Town. Bargarh Railway Station of East Coast Railways will be 4 KMs away from the Mid Town.




Nrusinghnath:Nrusinghnath is situated at a distance of 110 Kms from Bargarh. Being a lone pilgrim spot, it has been appealing the minds of lakhs of people, with magical glitters, for the last so many centuries.This is the Dawning – place of the mention Lard Nrushinghnath, the presiding Deity of the sacred mount GANDHAMARDAN – endearing multitude of memories, surprisingly amalgamating the legends of the Ramayan, the Mahabharat, the Budhist Era; even reminiscent of Bhoj Raj, Santh Kabir and Tantracharya Nagarjuna (the preserver of all scripture)


Wild life Sanctuary Debrigarh:
A peak in the Barapahar hills in Bargarh sub-division having a height of 2267 feet.There is a wild life sanctuary here. Except for elephants, wild buffaloes and blank Bucks most of the other important animals in the State of Orissa are more or less represented here.
