Bhadrak District: Tourism / Temples / Sea Beach /Port / Fishing Harbour
Bhadrak District is district of Orissa/Odisha state at eastern coast of India. The district is named after the name of town Bhadrak, which is the district headquarters. On 1 April 1993, this district was announced as a district deviding the Balasore District. The district has an area of 2,677 km² and a population of 13,32,249 as per the 2001 census. Bhadrak town is situated at a distance of 159 km from the state capital, Bhubaneswar, and it is famous for Bhadrakali Temple, which is also famous over the district. Aradi, Chandabali, Dhamanagar, Dhamara, and Guamala Nuasasan are some other most popular and famous places of tourist interest.
Patiala: Patiala is 15 kms from Bhadrak is famous for Biranchi Narayana Temple.
Bhitarkanika:Of late Bhitarkanika has become one of the major hot spot for the eco-tourists and nature lovers. Bhitarkanika river through its serpentine passage with mangrove tree canopy forming the fringe on either side offers picturesque beauty and fascinates sthe visitiors. Boat drive over Bhitarkanika river and Khola creak makes one to appreciate the scenic beauty of Nature. Giant crocodiles basking on the mudflats and chittals browsing along the banks during dawn and dusk waders moving around in the mud banks in search of food are sights most thrilling and be-witching.
BAGAGAHAN:Come monsoon- All the egrets, cormorants, storks and herons fly in, nest enmasse on Sundari and Guan trees with twigs and leaves plucked from Keruan-over ten acre of forest in fourteen thousand nests-behold forty thousand new chicks fly away with the onset of winter in October/November.
SEA BEACH:Enjoy the beauty of pristine sandy beaches of Ekakula, Barunei and Habalikhati. The serene sylvan and tranquil surrounding makes one to get lost in the lap of nature.
Another amazing phenomenon of nature here is the visit of Olive Ridley Sea Turtles to Gahirmatha in lakhs twice every year between January and March to lay eggs en masse.
